Beating the holiday rush with same-day delivery promotion

  • Bed Bath & Beyond is offering a limited, same-day delivery promotion.
  • The offer is valid for BuyBuy Baby and Bed Bath & Beyond customers, the company said Friday.
  • The company launched a three-day promotion with Shipt, which began on Dec. 14 and will run through Dec. 16. Free same-day delivery will be available on eligible products and orders over $39. Shipt’s last-mile service, Shipt Driven, will fulfill the same-day orders.
  • The retailer is also offering 20% off total purchase on curbside pickup or BOPIS orders from Dec. 17 to Dec. 24, according to the company announcement.

Introducing same-day delivery service which allows customers to get last minute holiday items from home and beat the holiday rush. The promotion launched after the announcement was made by EVP and chief digital officer of Bed Bath & Beyond Rafeh Masood. Even after the promotion, customers will still be able to access the retailer’s same-day delivery service for $4.99 on orders over $39, per the announcement.

Avoiding Delays: Three day promotion with Shipt

Bed Bath & Beyond is one of many retailers that have introduced same-day delivery options for consumers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The list of stores rolling out same-day delivery services now includes Best BuySam’s ClubChico’s and PetSmart.

With more consumers turning to e-commerce during the pandemic, reports indicate a surge in online and mobile shopping as well as possibly more package delays. Research from suggests that both FedEx and UPS could face noticeable package delays during this year’s holiday season, particularly in densely-populated cities. Online sales reached a record $9 billion on Black Friday, a 22% increase over last year, according to Adobe Analytics data. Additionally, this year’s Cyber Monday sales drew $10.8 billion in online sales, a 15.1% increase in e-commerce sales from last year.
